Manchester based photographer Jamie, is from a Design, Manufacturing and Engineering background but has always been interested in art, film, the fashion industry and photography. He initially took up photography as a hobby in July 2015 to help his self confidence & creativity return whilst he recovered from a life threatening illness.
He was born in Stockport, Cheshire in 1978. He grew up in a small village called Gatley, attending Gatley Primary School and later Kingsway Secondary School. He was always very energetic and lively so his parents enrolled him in gymnastics at the age of 6. He would go on to become one of the best gymnasts in the North West and the country. He was a very active sportsman during his teenage years and was the regional 400m athletics champion and captained his school and local football teams for many years.
Following School Jamie was spotted by Modelling Scout and Agent Mavis Roper at Manchester Modelling agency. Within weeks he was flown to Boston in America to work with the world famous Photographer Bruce Weber for the Versace / Vesus campaign 1995 / 96. Whilst working there he met and working with the likes of Donatella Versace, Claudia Schiffer, Stella Tennant and Ian Somerhalder.
Continuing his modelling success story Jamie found himself being whisked off to Milan and signed by Italian Agent 'Why-Not'. He was the first male model ever to be signed by this agency paving the way for the hundreds of men that are signed there today. He worked for Italian giants Dolce & Gabbana and photographer Mario Testino.
“My ambition with photography is to have the chance to work with Kate Moss”.
